Ok i killed the Sewer King about 20x in last two days...with zero drops. I mean, i understand it should be rare...but for me it looks like a lucky fool may get it before me :/
And if i think about the fact i would for example need to kill atzel 20x+ im really discouraged to try find something...

Dunno why it always must end in a grind fest, it could have been a very long, very expensive quest for example, not just mindless killing over and over.

So far it seems nobody in either EU [at least english speaking] or US got a single Base, Culture or City recipe. And knowing that some hardcore guilds must have sunk a LOT of time into it already I've lost any hope of having a culture weapon/armour until FC addresses this issue.

All those random drops are city recipes.

I like the fact that these recepies are very hard to find. Bigger reward for those people that try to find out some unknown stuff in this game. I've been all over the place hunting these recepies and haven't found any... The chase is better then the catch

Same here, we've run Onyx 4 hours at a time several times a week for a long time for tier 0, the drop rate was really bad but attainable.

Frankly I can't imagine we'll keep this up for long, the Culture recipes are not worth investing 30+ hours a week running dungeons for a single drop that provides Blue armour, the game is meant to be fun, easier and more rewarding to raid for tier 1.

Well done Funcom for implimenting something which most of your playerbase will not see any benefit from.

At this rate if I'm interested in the Culture armour I'm going to have to pay through the nose for it just to wear it, luckily I'm quite a trader and always make money fairly easily in these games, but the fact remains that if I buy the armour itself then I get minimal enjoyment out of the new crafted armour, if I obtain the recipe I can spend weeks acquiring the ingredients to create much needed armour for our new level 80's getting them up to scratch for raiding asap.

I'm not a casual player complaining that I have to work to get these armours, I'm a fairly hardcore tank/crafter/raider who has four chars ranging from 50-80, my main character has over 700 hours playtime under his belt on post launch alone, which is quite substantial for such a new game.

I run dungeons frequently and as things seem to be now I expect to never see the recipes, even if they drop you've made crafting multiple professions so easy and made thwe useful ones so few that right now most of Hyboria is re-rolling to both weaponsmith and armoursmith as along with Alchemy they are the only worthwhile professions and you can specialise in both, it would've been an idea to seperate them allowing only one profession and having tailoring and blacksmithing for heavy armours seperate, as it stands now these recipes are going to be snatched up by a lucky few players who see them drop and then get lucky with the rolls.

This would be true if there actually was any skill involved in the hunt... like some ultralong quest sending you all over Hyboria with clues to be deciphered to find the next hint in some out of the way place or something like this.

Unfortunately, it looks like Funcom just chose the easy way and inserted the recipes in the existing loot tables with some ultralow drop rate. So "the hunt" is actually down to pure, dumb luck... as too many things in this game.

Here's a hint for you, Funcom: people like to get a sense of progress on their objectives. If you want to make a goal obtainable only after a long chase, there's two ways of doing this: the right way is to implement some kind of cumulative point system where you can see your progress toward your goal, slow at it might be. The wrong way is to just put everything interesting under a 0.00000000001% drop rate, as people will get bored and give up long before reaching the goal (except that lucky 0.000000001% that will reach it within the first 100 tries).

well I don't think it is how you say yet ( exceptionally low drop rates). I tend to believe we missed sth. Maybe funcom doesn't want to reward the stupid grinding that everyone does now. I got a clue but I won't go into it until I have it confirmed.
