I am still running Windows XP, but I think XP suffers a little bit from it's non optimized multi-core and memory handling. So if I would have to decide (and had at least 4GB RAM) I would run on Vista64.

If your hardware is supported by Windows Vista x64 you should change. New games like Far Cry 2 runs better in Direct X10.1 compared to Direct X9.
And if you have crossfire/SLI system Windows Vista is almost a must because of the 4gb memory limit and multigpu systems stealing extra memory.
Like running Age of Conan in Windows XP on highest with 2 cards with 512mb memory each is rather stupid.
Also programs like 3D Studio Max 2009 and Adobe Master Collection CS3/CS4 runs better in 64 bit mode. Because they allow you to render better with multicore setups AND you can handle 4gb+ ram without a big loss in performance.
Never downgrade to Windows Vista 32 bit! If you are planning on running a 32 bit system Windows XP is the better choice.
So finally if your system can support the heavy requirements of Windows Vista x64 you should upgrade! If not stay with XP until you can afford a better computer that will run Vista better. Or wait for better support for Vista 32 bit.

Then my PC will run Vista.
Currently my PC's specs are: 3Ghz AMD 64 X2 (dual core), 2GB RAM, Gainward GeForce 8500 GT.
Soon i'm gonna get 4GB RAM, and GeForce 9500.
So this should be enough, right?

Why the geforce 9500?
I switched from 8800GT to Powercooler Radeon 4870 1GB and tbh best switch ever made. The card is cheaper then the high end series and pretty much at my resolution it tells the geforce cards to show their overpriced ass in the closet and die. :P

Gforce 9500 is a low end card and can't run any games with decent settings. Won't be much of an upgrade from 8500GT.
Save your money and buy a real card instead.

Indeed?
Well, then i should check out other graphics cards.
BTW, what is exactly the difference between GDDR2 and GDDR3?
I've seen this on some webshop, but didn't see any motherboards made for GDDR3 cards.
