Well - I just think they should rename this class to a Scout. Rather than Ranger.

Now if the name would be Scout, it wouldnt be as missleading. Except when you draw the waylayer in there. But still.

Scout:
Carrying a versatile array of weapons to dispatch their enemies, preferrably from afar. *check*
stealth *check*
tracking *check*
no pet *check*

and ranger does not mean pets. Just becouse D&D said it was there or WoW had it. Does not mean you have to have a pet!!!! In most cases you'd only have something like a dog to help you hunt, or a hawk owl or something.

Those who whine for pet should roll another class...there are some pet classes, which actually make sense. Taken consideration the lack of intresting designs on those classes pets, I'd rather see us with none(C'mon a succubi, when the universe would offer much much MUCH more unique demon species)

If there are going to be small, noncombat pets. (or maby with small debuffs) they should be avaliable to everyone. Might argue why a conqueror cant have a trusty warhound with him? Or a barbarian to have a trained hawk to rake his opponents eyes...

Interseting that its taken a European dev, to make an interesting xbow char. I know the xbow has a big following in Europe as opposed to the English emphasis on the bow. Beleive it or not the xbow is still used by some special forces in Europe!

the bow is used by special froces in newzeland, as far as i know only france uses the crossbow

also just because there are other versions of rangers out there dosnt mean ****. funcom made a ranger class, and they gave it a description (read the manual) so that is what the AoC ranger is, we are the ranged specialists, we dont need some kind pet unless it is some kind of fun thing like a msall bird that follows us around and gives some kind of minor buff, like and accuracy increase or additional range
