If I understand correctly you don't need to build walls to progress tiers so who wants to bother spending 101s on each wall, tower which may end up costing over 40g+?
So if the walls are pointless then why are they not free?
I would sooner build a wooden fence which doesnt need plans, just resources to finish it off.
b) because as only guild members can enter the gate, you create a safe zone where your members cant be attacked.
c) its aesthetic. when you have a few level 80s, gold's not an issue, so it looks cooler than wooden fences. high levels need a money sink, hence it will never be free.
d) no doubt at some point funcom will make having fully built outer walls to be a pre-requisite to in-town npcs or something else they decide to add.
Large amount of members guarantees:
-leveling friends
-helping in PvP
-protection
-Raids
-fast gathering of resources for guild city
-respect (Not everyone wants to get "Killed On Sight", after ganking someone)
I think it would be pretty cool if we could erect a free (or very cheap) Palisade wall until proper stone walls could be put up, that'd allow (for whatever reason people want them) to have walls that weren't a huge financial drain.
As a roleplayer walls are far from pointless to me.
Nope, free/cheap isnt the way of an MMO. The object of having a subscription based model is to introduce timesinks to gameplay. Having to toil away to get money in order the build the walls is part of the point. They're in business for you to spend time online.
I do agree tho ,i have a t1 city myself on crom. but the walls are just plain stupid a full city with buildings no walls ,costs u about what 13G ?
that gives u like 7 pieces of wall.Imo thats just crazy.
Why not make the price for wall plan higher but then give u all the inner or outer walls

He he too bad then that the typical casual guild rarely have more than 15 to 20 active members.
