Update, Jayde's next answer is on page 8.

Hello.
Jayde answered to this thread on Page 5. Big thank you for taking your time to help us out. Anyway, one questions remains:
What will be done about the destiny quests? Those of us who picked ratings are at a disadvantage because others picked mana for example which works in PvP.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Demonologist (or Necromancer) magic ratings. You will notice that the buff from either of the specialized fire/electrical/unholy/cold buffs added to your base magic rating will equal your resist rating, or any other "target" rating for your level.
For instance, the target at level 80 is 317 ratings, which is achieved with the base value + the buff value from either school rating buffs. (Obviously, if you have Archmage, the buff will also apply to both schools instead of just one.)
So, in the end, it is Magic Rating + Specialized Magic Rating vs. Resist Rating for the purposes of combat calculations.
Additionally, no stats were intended to apply to magic (or attack) ratings, and this was simply an error in the tooltip text until it was corrected last week. Intelligence increases magic damage dealt, not magic rating.
Fruthermore, Magic, Attack, Defense, and Resist ratings do not apply in PvP at all, to provide a more even playing field for all players of all level ranges.

So Magic Rating, Attack Rating, Defense Rating and Magic Resist do not work in PvP which makes sense. Yet there are some problems like that you can increase Magic Rating in the Destiny Quest. According to his posting, if you picked Magic Rating instead of Mana Regeneration you have a disadvantage in PvP. Which is stupid, I'd like to add.
Could some Dev (Hi Jayde?) tell us if this will be fixed somehow and why I take more damage in PvP without my Armor Buff (adds Def Rating) or if I am wrong about that?
It would be pretty stupid if we have to reroll characters just because of the Destiny Quest. For example.. it would make sense if the percent of magic/attack rating you have above your base magic/attack rating would apply as damage bonus in PvP.
Lets say (imaginary numbers) you have 300 magic rating and got 18 from the quest so you have 318 magic rating. 300 is base, 18 = 6% more => 6% more dmg in pvp. Or only 50%, so its 3% more damage.
Well?
