Forgot about that, glad you brought it up. I had a lv80 PoM sneak up on me, instant stun, repulse, 3.5k non-crit hit... without my Demon Wings on, same tactic hide/instant-stun/repulse for 2.5k non-crit.

Gonna see if anything gets fix in tomorrows patch, and if not, gonna run more test and post screenshots. Despite what the official word is from funcom, something aint working right.

more updates from this crappy bug.. I'm lvl 54 and was killing a lvl 35 (barbarian I think) who attacked a friend of mine. Guess what: I regularely hit him for less then 250!!! damage with shockstrike (which has a minimum of 270 damage without feats). How that's even possible when I have all + damage feats for my class is beyond me. My minimum damage should be at least around 350-400 with those feats.

Do you demonologists get a lot of spell resists, too? I recently made a necro and got it up to 36 so far, but when I fight anything called a 'Boss' of some sort, I get -so- many resists. As an example, I went to Black Castle and fought Ramuses while I was a few levels above him. But, I still had a string of like 5 resists in a row. It is like this for most bosses for me. Resists/spell miss definitely hurts DPS badly.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Demonologist (or Necromancer) magic ratings. You will notice that the buff from either of the specialized fire/electrical/unholy/cold buffs added to your base magic rating will equal your resist rating, or any other "target" rating for your level.

For instance, the target at level 80 is 317 ratings, which is achieved with the base value + the buff value from either school rating buffs. (Obviously, if you have Archmage, the buff will also apply to both schools instead of just one.)

So, in the end, it is Magic Rating + Specialized Magic Rating vs. Resist Rating for the purposes of combat calculations.

Additionally, no stats were intended to apply to magic (or attack) ratings, and this was simply an error in the tooltip text until it was corrected last week. Intelligence increases magic damage dealt, not magic rating.

Fruthermore, Magic, Attack, Defense, and Resist ratings do not apply in PvP at all, to provide a more even playing field for all players of all level ranges.
So basically the we get 2 unneeded buffs just so we cant use both schools of magic equally?

Well, nr 1: explain to me if my specialisation (of course I don't use the wrong one) should give me enough rating why I hit a lvl 35 player for 220 damage while I'm lvl 54? according to my spell's tooltip my minimum damage should be 270 (not counting feats)

nr 2: Intelligence increases magic damage dealt: no it doesn't, and according to upcomming patch notes it's the ONLY stat that will not be implemented yet

nr 3: resist ratings do not apply in PvP? Again I refer to point nr 1: why do I hit for less damage then my spell's minimum on someone 20 lvls lower then me?

Thanks,

Guardian could have over 20% resists, 5% from stance/manouver, 5% from feats not counting items resist stats. Also may have used a feat skill which reduces damage incoming by half (deflecting blows or something...) I dont know just suggesting possibilities. Also maybe armour type/defence values have some part to play in it who knows.

Pretty sure my rating isn't 317 at lvl 80 (with archmage), unless there's some gear I should be using to increase this...

my magic rating is 283 at level 80 unbuffed, if i apply electric or fire specc buff, it doesnt increase the magic value, maybe a display bug?

It works though with defense buffs and defense display...
