43 Ranger, Sharpshooter specced.

So at 30 i picked up both Sniper stance and Fire stance and got a nice boost in dmg (+30% from each stance, so i'm not listing that below). Atm these buffs add:

Sniper stance
-2% Miss chance
+8,6 Bow damage

[Fire stance]
+26,6 Fire damage
+ Chanse to proc extra fire damage.


Up til about 40ish i've been using sniper stance, but recently switched to fire and sure enough it seems like im doing more damage.

Is there anything im missing here or does sinking 5 points in a useless (considering pvp) feat to get sniper stance seem like a complete waste?

Has anyone made any tests here to test viability for each of them? How much does that -2% misschanse give (aka, what's the base miss chanse?)

I'm also thinking about speccing for sniper- and fire stance so I am also interested to know if it's a waste to have both of 'em.

Can you share your actual build and your overall impression of the class till level 43, the General rogue tree is usefull?

Well imo both are usefull in their own right. The reduced chance to miss is nothing to not consider as end game raiding will prolly require steady dps and a miss at lvl 80 can be a good amount of dmg. The +bow dmg % have greater chance of higher dmg in the end game as it takes the bow dmg and ups it where the +dmg from fire is a constant...

Useless stance i think not.

Not always, i depends on what your shooting at.. Would you shoot fire on a fire resistant NPC wich have less physical dmg resistance? I think the Fire for PvE and Sniper for PvP is a bit thin.

I guess we'll see what is what when we get to end game raiding and PvP battles but right now the sniper stance has a much bigger dmg potential then fire.

To bad that for Sniper stance you need to invest 5 points in silent shots that is totally PvE only skill.

Well true, i guess they need to work on the feat tree as it is atm regarding that. Cant really see the need for silent shots to be a prereq for sniper stance. So i agree with you there. But i guess there is a small chance that the tree will have change (praying) before the mortal part of the group hits 80

If you need to change anything you can always go to a trainer for reseting the feats for some bucks, even more, return to tortage and do it free! xD (it works actually...)
