Default What is "Tap Mana" ?

I am a Priest of Mitra and I need to choose between two weapons.

The staff offers: +70% tap mana % (magical) and +8 concentration
The tome offers: +64.8 mana and +12 concentration

Which is better?
What is "tap mana" ?

Thank you.

You can drain mana.

you dont drain mana, you "heal" your own mana, if "tap" would drain, the dark templer would not be that bad as it is now

Ibury, what does "heal your own mana" mean? Faster mana regen? (And if so, what is the difference between the "mana regen" stat and the "tap mana" stat?)

And I still don't know which of the two weapons is supposed to be the best. Is "tap mana" better than "mana pool"

Tap mana most likely scales with your damage, while mana regen doesn't.

As to which item part, i would suggest neither:

If your a Priest of Mitra you want a club and a shield rather than a staff or a tome.
The survivability goes waaaaay up.

Tap mana means for each bit of damage you do you will gain a little bit of mana back.
