Greets.

I have 3 ranks in Malefic chant - and yet - I havent seen it fire even once.

It should fire every 6 shot on average, but so far - zilch.

Anyone ever seen it work?

I also have it, havent seen it proc though, yet all I do is spam the spells thats supposed to proc it. I have 5 ranks in it, which dont feel worth it at all.

I guess its yet another broken feat.

Ye, Tried it for a couple of days when I speced general tree, but never saw it procing even I purposely tested if it had any effect.
Got 5/5 invested in it and I'd say it's broken.

So I wasnt seing Ghosts.

So - lets change this into a suggestion thread. Since the feat doesnt work, what would we like it to do?

I go first:

1) Work on all damaging spells.

2) Recover a percentage of the damage dealt (5% per point invested?).

3) Add another feat that increses the chance to proc (3/3 points = +45 % chance to proc?).

4) Add another feat that added recovery of mana - in addition to - and with same percentages as damage.

This is a slight chance that I have misunderstood the feat describtion. Mayhaps it only works on the potions I drink; or when other players heal me? Or when fighting a healer.
THose 3 options I havent checked; and with the archmage feat working as it does, there IS a slight chance that this feat too does something obscure and far removed from the describtion.

The feat is working, the problem is it just sucks too much. Make a combat log chat tab and you will see.

About each 2 fights I get the message "malefic chant heals you for 18hp"

So yes, you get a chance to get a 18hp heal when casting a spell. (demo lvl 48)

Well. Yes.

After going through a lot of combat logs, I can see that it "helps".

It heals by about 1,5% of my hp. Adding points beoynd the first increases this by 0,15% per point. So at 5 ranks, it will heal 2% of your health, 1 out of 5 times that your spell lands and isnt resisted.

I think this qualifies it as the worst "working" feat ever.

If it at least procced with EVERY attack - including AoE - then it was less of a laugh - but most likely still too weak for me to place points in.
