Okay, think of yourself as an assassin or a barbarian. Now you came across a ranger. If he had slows, snares and knockbacks to keep you away from him for at least 30 seconds (like he does now too) PLUS he has higher damage than you will have AND heavier armor, wouldn't you start thinking why anyone would take any other rogue class except ranger? Shouldn't assassins be dealing a LOT higher singletarget DPS, since they have only cloth armor? The ranger's speciality is (or imo, at least is supposed to be), as you can see from the name, range. This is the only thing I'd like to see changed: we should have the longest ranged attacks in the game.
Also, the problem here is that rangers can't kill priests nor soldiers at higher levels. I don't think it should be fixed by increasing rangers damage either, but instead by lowering the super duper self-heals of the priest. We should never be able to beat a heavy armored soldier (who has a shield) in a 1v1, so nothing to change with that issue (imo).
