I agree. This should be what the end result adds up to, but the point beeing discussed here isn't whether they have an advantage over the ranger. It's whether a ranger can actually do anything, to try and bring down a guardian (other than push him of a cliff).
Someone posted the need for balance, and i would have to agree. A ranger is great for PvE in my book. Especially with the Salvo-combo, and their good survivability. But i agree with Ibury, the difference in armour, and the stuff that can ignore it, is crazy.
I wonder if this adds in with the lacking "endgame material", that many people have been asking for. I would suggest, for example, that the Armor Ripper-combo remove a bigger percentage of your piercing invulnerability, perhaps based on armor type. As it is now, it removes 1% whether you have cloth, or plate armor... and that's just silly. I hardly ever use it.
I'll still be playing my Ranger, and working my way towards the 80, he's good at that. But beeing on a Rp-pvp server, and within a guild where we fight for leadership, i feel kinda left out and vulnerable. And it galls me, that i have to turn tail and run, instead of attempting to put up a fight.
