I am level 43, im just stating what i notice in my game. I have over 2000 hp, and the mobs im facing never do 300-500 damage. Maybe if it's three of them together.
But that's the friggin' point, your not a real ranger if you wouldnt utilize all the abilties they have given you! You have a leghold trap (and i admit, it doesnt always work quite that well), you have Pin Down, you have Incapacitating Stabs and with one only feat point it gives Knockback. These can be used to run away from the target giving you time to get a combo in.
Hell i haven't even mentioned potions, you ever use one?! You can hold your ground a period of time longer...
Its just absurd to render a Ranger USELESS in pve when he doesnt have Shattering Stance proccing like mad. Really, go reroll a barb if you want Knockback.
I notice how i can't handle the things i could when i was lower level. But still, its about picking the right targets and be ready for additional pulls. And Salvo & Xbow? Since when is that? If you use a bow, you get Salvo, if using an xbow your getting Piercing Shot.
And Salvo is bugged as hell, hitting for less (at least for me) what Piercing Shot does, plus Piercing Shots can damage multiple mobs at a time!
Have both Piercing Shot I and II next to eachother, and with me they dont share cooldown which means you get 2 cone-like shots.
Still.. After this, i really think Shattering Stance is useless now, but im not saying it ruined the entire class. Im still able to chrush other players and mobs of higher level. It takes more time and thinking instead of just relying on an insane high proc. Takes the skill out of the game if you ask me.
Well, im a lvl 51 ranger and i use shattering spec, nerf was big but it really was too munch, i knocked back npcs and cloth players at 1 of each 2 shoots with xbow, that was really insane, the main problem for me is the solution that funcom gave to it, why dont put a knockback bonus like other knockback class have so u just knowback 1 time per player/combat?
Well the solution of funcom is not that good but it really needed a nerf.
I still doing red quests with my shattering spec, now is harder but is possible so hey guys is not THAT big problem, really.
They must find the "Golden middle". Cus now is realy useless stance. They made it from 40% to 4%. Make it at least 15% and all will be pleased

Well, as i said i prefer a little bit more prob to knock back and munch less prob to repeat it so u are going to have a stance that knock back that dont use stamina but u dont know when it will be or if it will be(resistances, armour etc...) that will be fine.
this is allready implemented for some days, in pvp. -.-
Well i can tell u that i have been knoking down same player one time and another in the same fight so the bonus against the ranger knock back i really dont know if was being used, thats why i said it.
knock back one player more than once on a fight is just abusive imo.
