What I got for buying ATI:

Very high settings and high FPS playing new games like Call of Duty 4.
Very high settings and high FPS playing other new MMO's like LOTRO
Does everything else I require it my PC and does it with ease. Apart from:
High settings ( because there's no performance difference putting it lower )and low erratic FPS playing AOC.

Now if FC want us all to buy an NVIdia GPU because they've been slipped some readies and have got a nice advert on the loading screen then quite frankly that idea can get shoved where the sun doesn't shine.

The best advice FC can give is to their own coders to sort this soup sandwich mess of a graphics engine out and get some optimisation done for not only NVidia cards but ATI as well.

This I absolutely agree with. Atm I am running on an old system not even worth mentioning, But in a few days my new pc will arrive: Amd Quad core Phenom X4 9850 BE 2,5Ghz, 4 gb ram, Win XP Pro (cant remember if its 64 or 32 bit), two HD 3870 512MB @ 850 Mhz in Crossfire. To me that sounds like a system that should run this and many other demanding games very nicely, But I will have to wait and see.
My point is as long as Nvidia keeps being lightyears ahead of ATI on price and just barely ahead on performance, why should consumers be forced to buy Nvidia?
Fix AoC for ATI users. Please do it, and dont act like you dont care.

If they signed contract with nvidia i doubt they will fix that issue with ati cards. I think its like that on purpose. And i don't mid it if it is cause nVidia rocks.

The market doesnt work like that I'm afraid, ATI and Nvidia may be competition towards eachother but that doesn't mean that half of the audience(read: gamers) will be cut off to a game just because it is receiving sponsoring from ATI/Nvidia, and if that were the case, well then that unnamed game would not be worth my time.
Ofcourse one would also expect the game to be somewhat close to finished upon release, altho my personal guess is that Funcom started running out of funds for the game and thus had to release it instead of putting it back further(wich otherwise would've been a quite terrific idea considering the amount of bugs, lack of content for 55+ etc.).

Top performance with every other game, funny FPS with AoC for no particular reason.

One minute I have 75 FPS, next 6 FPS. Same location.
