Such a long time ago!
Sad that after playing for a couple of months on Aquilonia that it's only now I remember where that vague feeling of "I know these guys" came from every time I saw one of you pass .

I've made some major changes in the guild today and instead of writing the normal "see you, suckers!" post on the forums here, I'll make the post I made on the Exalted forums official here.
Wall of text, I know, but for the less interested of you, here's the short version;
- Xuthal is the new Guild Leader of Exalted
- Exalted switches from a 1 game guild to a gaming community.
Here's the long version made on our forums:
----------
Where the hell is Wood?!
Exalted is evolving
I bet many of you have asked yourselves this question these last weeks/months.. I started with Exalted and Age of Conan in January 2007, created this forum in May 2007, entered the game in May 2008 and was pretty much constant online until this summer. Since new years, or there abouts, I've had severe issues with the game, and even more so with ventrilo when playing the game, so when the golf season started up I found way more pleasure in getting fit, getting fresh air and making a few birdies now and then than getting frustrated over a game. Ending in me spending the time I usually spent in Hyboria else where, mostly on the golf course..
Well, enough about that. Early summer I always had a plan about getting my butt back to Hyboria once the autumn sat in, but to tell you the truth, when late summer came, the few times I tried to get back in to the game I didn't enjoy it. Not that I didn't like the game, I love the game! Still do! But again.. I've got these problems with my rig that simply wont run good with AoC, nor am I willing to pay up for another rig for this game. The one I have was bought especially for AoC back in April 2008. And yes, I've upgraded a few things after that.
I can live with the 10-15 fps though, the 5-10 minutes it takes for me to even get the game started is dead annoying, especially as it crashes about 50% of the times as well, but it's not a game breaker. What really is the game breaker for me is that I can't socialize with you guys while playing as AoC for some reason messes up my connection to Ventrilo. I was pretty sure my problems would go away when we switched to TS3, but it kind of sealed the deal when I started getting the same issues there as well. So basicly the social aspect of Age of Conan is gone for me, and the social aspect of Exalted is the bread and butter for me, it's what's the guild is all about.
So now I'm not playing AoC much, I try to log in now and then though and I will not cancel my sub as now and then I might fight the frustration and log in just for the hell of it, plus.. as I said... I really like the game.
The merge also took away some of the "feel" I had for the game. Fury has a lot of asshats, yeah, but that's not it as most of the inhabitans are great, but we sort of lost something. Quite a few of our members moved alts to Crom and we became more split as a guild as well, but again, the merge was necessary. Aquilonia was too small. I only wish they did a full merge. 1 Hyboria - 1 World. And you've had a distant leader these last month as well, it's not good for business, I know.. But it's hard to let go of something one hold dearly.
But arite, the guild. Exalted. For me it's more than a geeky mmo community full of aged weirdoes, it's more like a kid I've raised. Therefore there will be a few changes done now that I'm not playing Age of Conan actively any more.
The last couple of weeks I've really been thinking hard what to do with Exalted. I know many of you equals Exalted with me personally, which is also why I for a time really considered to disband the guild. To end it while we were ahead. But that really wouldn't be fair. There's still many of us playing Age of Conan and I as well still want to visit Hyboria and most importantly I dont want to loose touch with you guys.
So first of all; I'm not nearly active enough to continue as the guild leader of Exalted. So without further ado, Xuthal is hereby promoted to the new Overlord and he will carry the Overlord helmet onwards! He will run the guild as he best see fit. I've got full faith in Xuthal and I'm damn sure he'll do what's best for the guild in Age of Conan. If the day comes that Xuthal leaves his office in the keeps cellars I'll once again inhabit the office and carry the Overlord title. But up until that day, he's da man in charge of Exalted in Hyboria.
Which leads me to my next point;
I've always said that Exalted is a 1 game guild. This because it's easier to keep the focus and the success rate of the guild if all of us only speak Hyborian. Now though, after these 3-4 years, we've had so many players in and out of the guild that it's only fair to the ones playing other games that I change my opinion about that. This as the social aspect of the guild in the end really is the most important. Yes, we want epics, yes we want to win all battles, but most importantly; we want to have fun while we're doing it. And fun is best had in the company of friends.
So from now on Exalted will start off on a new adventure; the gaming community adventure. This means that I open up for Exalted in other games as well. Exalted in other games will found itself upon the same foundations as Exalted in Age of Conan, but it may have special rules for specific games. This will be up to the Overlord to decide.
Hyboria will for ever be the place we call home though. At least it's in Hyboria I'll leave my hat. And it's very important to stress the fact that Exalted in Age of Conan still will continue it's endeavours, we're not done with Hyboria.
Exalted - The gaming community
Naturally I have some rules here as well... got to love em, eh? ^^
- If you want to start up Exalted in another game using these forums and our member base you'll need to be 5. 5 Exalteds make a good core. I will promote the Lord in a new game, the Lord will promote his/hers officers.
- Each game will have it's own Overlord (Guild leader) and I will not interfere with day to day business. I will only be an advisor if wanted, else I'll shut up and drink beer.
- Forums will be adjusted to better suit other games and all our members are encouraged to write their active game in their signature. Officers in other games will naturally have officers forums here as well. Forum ranks will differ depending on what games one is active in.
-If some game in the future become very active I will of course host a separate url for that game. The main idea though is to still use the same forums, as it's here we bond, it's here we get to know each other.
- We will host TS3 and all our members are encouraged to use it regardless of game they might be playing. Our TS3 will also have channels with the active games we're playing.
- I dont believe there will be many games where we might wander off in large groups though, but now the option to stay connected at least is there.
- My role in the gaming community called Exalted will be different than today. I will still have the very final say if things get very skew, but I will not interfere with any specific game related issues, only community related issues. This means I will still have the power to kick anyones ass that I feel threaten the community or otherwise doesn't show the spirit or respect that we all expect from each other.
My new rank will be Spirit. (I thought about naming me a rank called Carlsberg, but arite, Spirit it is. For now.)
So which other games are there?
Well, we've got WoW. The dreaded, hated, loved WoW. Many of us, me included have played it earlier and lately I've picked it up again. I can play it and still chat on vent/ts3! Yay! Plus those goblins.. got to love em ^^
We've got sw:tor coming up. Zorecus (Our earlier pve captain) has done a hell of a good job setting up a guild dead ready to conquer space and I know many of you will want to go jedi mumbo jumbo (yeah, I'm no space fan ^^) with that gang, but those of you who wont are of course welcome to start up Exalted there. I do however encourage you to check out Zorecus' project, Exiles. They have been at it a while and I bet they are space pro's by now!
We've got GW2 coming up, personally I'll take a peak at that one.
The Secret World, I'll probably peak inside that one as well.
Well, there's many games ahead, and the best one is still to be played! What I hope is that whenever it will launch Exalted will have a community in it!
Well, so I leave you with that. I will still be the evil dictator, but my dictatorship will not reach to any distant lands such as Hyboria anymore. I will however still try to keep a red line in the guild and I'll do whatever I can to make sure that we stay connected also for the years to come.
Yours truly,
Wood

Sad to hear this game has been giving you so many headaches, but on the other hand it's nice to hear that the game at the same time more or less stole your heart
Wish you the best of luck in your endeavers mate, always do the things you do because you like doing them;D (love golfing as well^^)
And good call not erasing the guild just like that. The merger was hard for all of us but we, Spirits, felt the true pain of losing a place we called our home away from home for more than 3 delightful years...
Keep your family where you know they'll enjoy themselves and have a good time
Best wishes & take care,
Merloficus

I just wish to add to this post that Exalted has opened up its recruitment again. We are welcomming any weirdo that would like to join us. Please make an application on our forums and if you have any questions you can send me a pm in game.
I dont do alts so you can always reach me at Xuthal.
The plan is to make Exalted a bit more active again. We are looking for some extra members to make that possible.
