Why do you like playing a Ranger?

Personally I like them because they are so versatile.

They are the only class truely able to use ranged weapons effectivly to cause damage.

They can hold their own in melee and if played right match the damage of a Barbarian or Assasin especially now they have had their melee combo damage improved.

They can wear decent enough armour and hold a sheild.

Pretty much for the same reasons you said kutara. Rangers are too good!

Becuse I never played the ranger/hunter style class before in other mmorpgs so I figured it would be fun to try something new.

And even though they lowered dmg and range I think we going see a buff on that area in the future, 20yards is kinda silly for a class that suppose mastered ranged weapons.

Same really. I have never really tried a class of this kind. Will make a change from being the Wizard type I have always been.

But to be serious it's the versatility really. That and I like the idea of a sneaky sniper. Not that the range really allows for the term 'sniper' but you can't have it all.

Also the fact I don't have to loose myself in some virtual pet BS like in WoW and that I used to play an archery based avatar in UO helped in the decission. But it's mostly the versatility.

I will quote someone(dont remember whom) from another forum regarding why...

"If everything was based on reality then nearly every player would probably be an archer of some type. Regardless of what they show in the movies its dang near impossible to fight with an arrow sticking in your chest."

Because i always played a Hunter/Ranger in all the other MMo's i played
