Well think is been a long path, when did the time fly so fast So guys in this anniversary how about you share how you first learned about the game and what made you play in first place.

For me I first learned about it in 2006 from a pc magazine, and I really want it to play it since Did not preorder but started playing 1-2 weeks after official launch. The things I liked is the Lore, Conan universe, the gore the +18 setting, the combat system and the Necromancer class being my fav since I came from Guild Wars and Diablo II before that. And one of the last things that made me buy it was this:

I've always been a huge fan of R.E.Howard and his barbarian Conan.
Counting around 200 books, all 3 movies, and tried several games, i was looking around for more games about Conan the Barbarian.
The happiness was huge when i discovered AoC in the making.
Then i noticed it was a MMORPG...I preordered 2 years before it was actually released (delayed a few times i remember).
It became the first MMORPG i've ever played, and i regret nothing.

I kinda expected a little more, like an event or something.
and the cloak going out to all subscribers.. sure, but I was kinda expecting a nod at veterans, people that have been here since day 1, not day 1 last month.

In short: when it comes to 4 years celebrations this is the most lazy thing FC could have done. Happy brithsday I guess.

Heh, I didn't give a **** about REH, HPL or MMOs (had only some experience with GW and WAR) back in 2008. I stumbled upon the 7-day trial ad and decided to try it. Right now I'm a fan of REH, HPL and MMOs

Lol and I feared I won't get the cloak because I didn't play from day 1... A bit sad that there's nothing special for vets.

back in 2008 I was searching for new MMO to play after WoW fiasco. I stumbled on AOC and got totally amazed by the looks and feel of this game. Back then I knew very very little about Conan. I quickly bought few dark horse comics and then read all of REH's Conan books. I was hooked for life. I love the game in terms of combat mechanics, lore and world design. Seems like AOC is underfunded these days or something.

I used to play pretty hard EVE for about 2 years before I discovered AOC about after one month after launch. I remember I've read about it on some website and gave it a try. During this 4 years there were some longer periods of divorce but so far keeping coming back (to EVE aswell ).

Good to see that you need to pay 15€ to get that cloak. Good to know that its only virtual item and its not worth to pay that 15€

Kinda expected that old members get that cape, but Funcom is just greedy
