PVP - @ Sillirion and/or Devs, whats coming and when?
As the title suggests, I and I'm sure some others want to know what is coming in the future for pvp in age of conan and when it is coming.
I think it's about time you finally came clean and talked to whats left of the community about your plans for pvp and gave us a clear time schedule. Just in case youre busy I shall monitor and bump this thread until I get a satisfactory reply.
So to start things off. Sillirion, please answer each point below. Are we getting any of the following and when, approximate dates are ok.
1. faction based pvp
2. more mini game maps
3. split pvp minigames by pvp level
4. consequence system revamp
5. siege fixes
6. minigame bug fixes
7. old pvp stats reintroduction and more stats
8. towers system
9. alignment system
10. ANY other unlisted pvp content whatsoever
11. No further pvp content
I'm pretty sure we have already covered this in the development letters. The next content based PVP addition (not counting all the significant PVP system centric updates incoming, like sprinting, class changes etc) is the new mini-game map that will come around the same time as the next adventure pack.
Bug fixes and performance improvements come in each major update series as appropriate.
so to your list ...
1. No firm plans there yet, as mentioned in previous letters, this is something we are considering for the future.
2. As above, it will be around the same time as the adventure pack
3. No eta there, most likely once we have the single server infrastructure in place.
4. No plans for any revamp there. We have not mentioned doing that, and have no plans there atm.
5. Performance updates come in almost every update. We will also benefit there from some potentially beneficial updates that the network folk have done for TSW, that we will get after we next integrate the Dreamworld tech. (Possibly later this year, will depend on update windows, currently hoping to try some of it in the fall)
6. Again, bug-fixing happens in regular updates. Always ongoing.
7. As we have said before, no plans on anything there if you mean adding back in deaths. We may consider something there next year.
8. As everyone knows the 'Tower' design was what was eventually the Shrines feature. No plans for another round of open world objectives of that nature. As mentioned in previous letters, we will most likely keep to instanced PVP content for the moment. However, on a personal level, I'd love to revisit that design at some stage, but there are some serious limitations that ending up scuppering the intention the team had with the Shrines, and we would need some of those addressed before we re-examined that.
9. Not sure what you mean there. That's not any system we have talked about before .. so obviously no plans there, but I'm not sure what you mean.
10. As we have mentioned we will most likely reconsider the world bosses in some form, depending on the discussion on a faction system as mentioned in one of your previous points.
Not a problem to confirm those statuses and estimates again. The plans haven't changed any over the last few months as we are hard at work on the current updates and the adventure pack. The bulk of our focus for PVP has been on the systems side of things, with some of them, as with the multiple specs, and the sprint changes, being major changes. Of course we need to make sure there is new content in the pipeline too, and that is the case too, with the new map in the works to come alongside the adventure pack.

Not trying to make you sound uninterested in pvp, but what you are saying is you do not give a damn about pvp and youre main focus is pve right? You use all these big words witch mean i do not care. SIL have you actually tried pvp in aoc? Have you seen how broken the pvp content is? I gues not, maybe you should try your own game and see what we are complaining about. Come join a guild for a month play the game for pvp then tell us what you think and how you feel about the state of pvp in this game
I'm sry. One minigame map at end of year and some systemchanges is not enough to revitalize.
We have one pvp server and one pve server. Pvp is a major part of the game. Yet only one minigame map vs dozens of pve instances. For AoC to have a future more pvp content needs to happen.
(We really need some stats, easy content that keeps folks intrested)
I am sorry to say Sill but in the last 4 months there is no bug fixing from your team concerning PVP. Do you know about the win/loose stat? you should for around 5 months now and yet you still havent addressed it yet. Now noone plays pvp for the win all are going after the kill since wins stats doesnt work. Dont you find this game breaking? propably not, since there is not report on this for ages. Why cant you give a little focus to pvp??? why dont you prepare an "adventure pack" only for pvp? you have pvp server and even in pve server there are so many players that do pvp but nothing for these players. You only created one minigame in 4 years of this game and imported a game breaking feature (bori) that you in the end removed it from rage server (ofc adding a pvp server is not content).
Sil you need to start putting more pvp content in game, you will get ppl comming back alongside the ppl coming in for pve...
cant u understand that a lot of old dedicated good pvp players r playing other games and if they were to find out that pvp in aoc got some "love", you will get their subscriptions back,with that u will not loose your pve crowd coz there is tons of content to go through even today... I understand that u making new pve expansion to make money for next year, but in the long run, the returned subscriptions will bring you even better income,+ you still have a lot of time to make new pve content really...
