Hate increase is basically a crap stat on soldier items to help them tank, but without increase in dps - you're a carny ffs, never trade dps for +hate

I aim for full TT as the main set and BD (actually it's anything I can grab with high armor/str/protection - I will wear ) for more tanky duties, but this will be a looong way.

I seem to loose aggro very fast if I stop hitting and I have to use Goad when I want to compete with full T3 tanks when they're racing. I helped to tank a few easier T3 bosses and it was just friggin fun! I know I'm there to help, not to be a star (though the reactions are nice when they see you actually tank some heavy hits) so it's fine.

I've made the exact opposite experience on my guardians. For tanking, guardian T2 sword is better than Ibis (with crit/combat rating gems slotted) and Scarlet Circle Cloak is better than Vigilant Serpentwave. For a guardian Hate Increase Rating is better than damage for tanking.

On my Conq I also plan do some tanking on a Carnage spec and I aim for guardian swords (because of Hate Increase Rating) if I'm assigned to tank duties and Barbarian axes for dmg. Why shouldn't you go for Hate Increase Rating on a Conq, if it is useful for Guardians?

You can't put any real dps on guardian, so you need the artificial modifiers and aggro tools more. My remark was only about carnage conqs - they have very good base dps (even in defensive stance), so the benefit from crit rating/damage is much bigger (since it's pecentage based).

No reason not to use a good +hate weapon like Nilus, but f.e. grinding for LL +hate set is counterproductive IMO.

I guess there is nothing wrong to go Hate Increase stuff with Carnage Conq tanking, but I don't see why if you can keep the damage just with DPS gear.

I personally have Epic Wolf gear for tanking and that works greatly agro wise when I just spam my combos. With all buff stuff up I get my HP up to 17 500 or so and I can hold agro just fine.

So far, so good. Carnage offtanking works in hard modes even with culture gear! I just got some weird two-handed blunt from the Gayas as the knockback or decoy weapon too.

both brute and carnage get nice boost from hate items... the difference is that carnage can get agro by high dps in defencie if u keep GODS running in defencive... brute cant i find + hate items realy importent on brute, on carnage using Bd and LL items with hate gives u so strong agro that dt pet cant keep agro from u.

why would a carnage use GoDS for hate? Can't happen without hybrid.

The hate increase on GoDS is a bug from before feat rewamps. i.e. Improved retaliation feats add +1% hate PER feat point on GoDS combo from the old feat tree.

A carnage Gen does not have Improved Retaliation. Therefore a Carnage does not get +hate from GoDS

Carnage was never not offtank material... I thought this was about using Carnage as maintank?

Carnage can offtank any content. Offtanking is only stepping in a short while. Always been possible.

Suprisingly to the top tanks tanking T3 to the full extent would be rare for a carnage to get aggro easily without taunt and goad... except those moments where aggro resets and becomes weak on tanks. Maybe I'm just blessed with insane tanks... Guards AND DT's. Which I most certainly am.
