But too bad console games sell more, we get more bad quality products, hope next generation consoles changes that. Unlikely....

The quality of console gaming has always been top notch. You get what you pay for. Can't say the same for PC, here we pretty much pay for beta versions of games.

there are so many games out there its insane. its hard to find something that hasnt been done now.
battlefield 3 might have failed for some. but i know plenty of people who love it.
the difference today is that the market is way more diluted than it used to be.
the problem as I see it, is that we arent progressing quite as fast anymore, it feels like a lot of games and companies are just rehasing old ideas, with new atwork, and gameplay changes that are little more than mods. while at the same time pushing the graphical limits.
give me a large open world with networked physics please and multiplayer. with propper collision detection and fun action combat. (personally i prefer the action combat in a lot of asian japanese titles - rather than the clickfest of Diablo etc. )

Problem with making games today is that they require so much money. So only the biggest studios has the money to make tripple A titles like Battlefield 3 and Diablo 3.
So we will most likely see less small studios pop up with big titles similar to Minecraft.
But on the other hand a new gaming market has arrived and that is smart phones and tablets.
So we are evolving but not in the same way as we did before.
