tbh i dont care anymore for the nice AoC grafic and animations
AoC has to many bugs and some of them are just gamebreaking

If SWTOR has a good PvP System im happy with it - even with comic style

Yes the AoC combo system felt fresh and different and exciting at first, but the novelty has worn very very thin in my opinion. When I play another MMO now, its refreshing not to have to mindlessly repeat the same key sequence over and over and over again to use the same combo that I have to use several times in a single fight.

I can only assume that you have seen many SWTOR videos because the ones I've seen show a huge amount of imagination and variation in the animations associated with special abilities.

Or, to put it another way, in AoC you can laugh as your female DT's head is cut in half by the shield she carries at a weird angle on her back, you can wonder why your battle axe is floating 2 feet behind you.

My point is this (assuming you've read this far), I keep seeing posts with a very rose tinted view of AoC and making totally unfounded criticisms of SWTOR. Low polygon counts? What videos have you been watching?

You can say "I don't like the graphical style of SWTOR", but half the people posting here are just making stuff up to criticise it. Just say you don't like it. It's fine. Go on, say "I don't like it". Feel better?
I have seen all of the SWTOR vids, a few friends keep spamming me with them :P And if you find Aoc combat boring it just means you still havent figured out 10% of it Also calm down a bit will you? It very much sounds like you are about to cry with every thing said against SWTOR I will try the game out, as i said. Bioware will make a fun story, but i doubt the game at its core will be good.

Let me explain a bit..

AoC= Most fun gameplay, combat and best feel to it. BUT! IT fails horribly, and utterly when it comes to content.

WAR= Epic content, theres great ideas and alot of working, good content. But the classes are shallow and the animations are so aswell. Making the game boring despite all of its content.

SWTOR= Good story, it will be fun for anyone who enjoys single player RPGis, big world there for you to explore and enjoy.. but like war, it will fail when it comes to the games core :P

...and here's the clincher; the personal insult that inevitably comes when all arguments have been exhausted. Predictable. When someone argues with you, accuse them of 'crying'. How mature of you. This must mean you've won the argument then.

Gotta love your omniscience here mate. You know exactly what this game will be like and can predict its long term future. Marvellous. Why didn't Bioware hire you to prevent this obvious mess. the idiots.

This isn't about SWTOR. I could give a monkey's whether you like it or not. I've repeatedly said over and over, feel free to say you don't like the look of it. This is about me being completely tired of the miserable, adolescent attitude of this forum. Every thread is filled with whining, with predictions of doom and a general, everything is sh*te attitude. Let me spell it out to you in the same patronising why you did.

Adult = I don't like the style of the graphics. The game doesn't really appeal to me. I think I prefer AoC

Whiny Adolescent = This look crap. It will fail. Aoc is awesome this will be boring.

See the difference? No? Oh well.

Naah just ignore me mate. I'm just a tired old fart who's had enough of this community. I've contributed a lot to this forum and over the years and I think its time to stop.

You have to admit though, that when you say something like this to a decent PvP'er, especially the "stand still and spam" part, certain reactions are bound to come

When you even say it in a thread where Mayn is one of the active contributors, well ...

On topic again, I have to admit that the more I see of SW:ToR, the less I feel like playing it.

You are taking what I said totally out of context. I was referring to the video he linked to, not anyone's play style.

And here we have a measured and mature comment. If there was more of this I wouldn't be leaving this forum.

What amazes me about this entire discussion is that no one has said "This game is not yet finished. How can we know what the graphics will look like?"

OK, BioWare has presented this to us as an example of the game, but it is highly probable that this is all they have. They cannot rely on the strength of their trailers alone to entice players to join.

I think people saying "This game will suck" may be the same that have been disappointed by the movies. We--by and large--all went into E1, 2 and 3 expecting the greatest thing ever to ever be seen. Our expectations were high and then seriously fell to earth in a blazing crash. We don't want to be suckered like that again.

...or they are concerned that AoC's population will decreases even more when this game comes out, which it will.

Players of MMOs are desperately hungry for a good si-fi MMO. AO and Eve just don't fill that need. They want to fly ships and drink in taverns and explore worlds.

Everyone thinks everyone will play a Jedi/Sith. I honestly don't think so (maybe all the kids). We are sick of hitting things with a sword.

At least I am.

I'm not sure if it will go this way or whether we'll see the 'Horde effect'. The most often repeated line in WoW was that the kiddies played Alliance and grownups played the Horde. Or was it the other way round? It honestly depended on who you asked.

I'm intriqued by the idea of a ranged tank, but I'll probably go with a healer. There are so many options I can't decide though. Bounty Hunter healer? Imperial Agent healer? A Smuggler healer maybe? If they get it right then the classes are very flexable. each has several roles. Bounty Hunters for example, can be tanks, healers or dps. Rift tried this approach but there were concerns about class balance and some specs being unplayable. I have higher hopes for SWTOR because I trust Bioware not to screw it up.

Someone mentioned Secret World. That looks interesting too. Do I trust Funcom not to screw it up? Erm .....

I have to disagree with that one, those mmo players who are starves of a good sci-fi mmo with what you have listed there just haven't looked hard enough, all of that is contained in Starwars Galaxies, which is the most sandbox of any mmo, you're also missing STO which although personally it's not my taste is a very good sci-fi mmo, BSG Online is another one, Global Agenda another as is planetside (although these two are more FPS games with an mmo world attached) and RF onine.

There are actually a lot of sci-fi mmo's quite a few of which are actually very good games, but for some reason they aren't as prominent in the mmo market as fantasy mmo's.

These old MMO's just don't cut it though. People want a new, high quality, modern sci fi MMO with a thriving population and good support. Whether SWTOR will be that game, none of us really know, but those old games you list are certainly not it.

I'd also say that a sandbox game is not to everyone's taste either. If I wanted a sandbox I could go play Second Life.

It's certainly true that sci fi MMO's have never been as popular as fantasy, which is a shame for those of us who prefer sci fi. That's why lots of people are excited about the Star Wars name being attached to this title, not necessarily because we are Star Wars fans, but because we hope it will attract a healthy player base.
