Sorry DarkM But you're wrong. I joined almost every big RP event and for several months I sort of leading the Tesso weekly event and can say for sure - the RP community was priceless... No bunny jumpers, no gankers/disruptors were noticed for many months before this merge. Yes of course it was not always like this but such wonderful state lasted for pretty long time. I even managed to forget how it happens.
I hope we will manage tokeep this somehow here, however I believe it will never be the same.

1) You obviously were not there for the first lot then. Cos the tards were there in the early days.

Unless someone is honestly trying to explain that EVERY toon in the game is RPing an immortal ex slave who knows Conan and has loads of asuras and the like. Skog is: Gwyar isn't nor is Delzibietta, Ellihriara or Azhrukk.
After fighing Atzel, Black Ring cult and their dog, the hardended warriors make theri way to the hardest, toughest places known to living man and then....... sneak off to the last place Toth-Amun wont find them - some tavern in Tesso.
Wouldn't be bad if the toons there actually were situated near teh area. Place was infested by Stygians anyhow lol.

Not slagging off the whole event, good idea for RP. Just noticed that there was a Tavern event and some Slave auction and bugger all else.

What a bout a dungeon crawl (like I did once before), where you wrfe IC all the time. Using SAY and emotes. You fell, you were assumed to be injured. All talk was done in character ((as oppsed to "lol, res the noob" "epic fail haha cue benny hill"))
Or just stop next to a random and ask teh directions to the market, or even how teh battle with the Vanir goes.
Sure, you could do this to Koragg and DD, but most would just gank you or be a pil.

The server needed more events and randoms that didn't involve taverns. No spams in global.

Now we are on PvP only server, so will have to like it or lump it. A few RP dungeon crawls and other warlike events are needed. That way RPers dont p1ss off the Furians by acting too geeky and iviting a gank or 2.
Now it is teh time to do what always has been done - behind the scenes, semi private events.

I gotta agree with DM here, i never really took part in tesso coz the whole idea is silly.

But many things in rp are pure win and alot of fun.. Aqui had no gankers for rp events as the server was simply dead, fact. But Furians show good promise so far... talked to two biggest guild leaders and both are against distruption of RP, im sure it can work out really well

I was there at the start and fully remember how it was in 2008/2009. Especially when pvp xp came along.

I agree with you that some of the time warping is a little odd, but it's a necessary evil because of the game mechanics (and server population), and I don't know anyone who RP's some immortal super man who knows Conan and kills Thoth Amon with their little finger.

For any server or MMO to be successful it is down to the inhabitants to make a community, bring friends together, team, fight and spend our precious free time with like minded people.

The RP community did indeed do what you said. It turtled itself away in guild cities, private groups and the like. But actually most just quit the game refusing to pay money for something that others forced them away from.

The question is, is does doing that again actually help anyone? Does it form communities, help get teams for pvp and raids. Does it make fury a nice place to play?

I would argue no. It doesn't. Public events are the lifeblood of a server. Be they RP or PvP contests or a mixture of both. When there are no player run, open events the entire game suffers. People leave, won't bother coming, refuse to play and so it goes on.

Unlike 2008 there is more than enough content to keep everyone amused, without needing to get in each others way or to resurrect this RP vs PvP thing again. Both should be able to co-exist openly and respectfully and I am optimistic (and big thumbs up to the guilds that Mayn mentioned) that people have realised this also and we won't have a repeat of the past.

Even when Khemi was full of RP all day, every day (two years ago), there where always people running around OOCly (often trailing a horde of undead in their wake), stopping at a group in the middle of RP and going "lol, what u doing doing?" (if they were nice, hopping around and spamming insults was common practice as well). Disruption of events in PvP areas was always a concern for the organisers and if there was only one incident of griefers that "wasn't too bad". The population on Aquilonia had become so low lately that we tend to forget that.

I feel that the attitude towards RP and towards other players is overall great on the new Fury. Most RP guilds are most likely doing some damage control with all the panicing members rushing to Crom, but when things settle down, we can get more events going and have a great player base on a server that's alive.

Ye I travel around the world every day and in Khitai doing quests and stuff but I'm not there iCly... my characters never ever been in Khitai and don't need to travel miles to a tavern because they recide not far from it most time (ICly). Hope you got it finaly? ^^


And DarkM about the OOCtards and griefers. You should learn to read posts properly and see the core. Once again - there were no bunnyhoppers and griefers for several months before the merge. Yes I know what I'm saying I took a good part in most RP events on AQ and 95% of them went perfect.
