Now ive only ever played in Fury PvP server, Ive noticed theres servers like PvP-RP, PvP-PvE ect.

I know the RP means Role Play But what exactly is the difference between say a standard PvP/PvE server and a PvP-RP/PvE-RP server?

HoT Crucible

English server Crom PvE
Cool maturity mainly

RP servers tend to have smaller more tight-knit communities and RP events (which I am not an expert on)

Also more mature players (mostly)

However, there are RP rules - naming cant be using zzz or slang - has to be vaguely RP or some1 will petition you for spoiling their "immersion" -- quite how an avid RPers can justify using global to shout to the world and see the name of the person "floating" above their head .. is ..well.. down to them

And then there are those that are sick of constant ganking and QQing and general being a twat that Fury and Crom are famous for.

So basically in a RP server you have to stick to the role/story of the game at all times?

I.e, Dont talk about currnet real world stuff in in-game chat ect?

It doesnt have to be complete the story, but be in your characters place, ie. a guard acting like a guard, a roque like a roque, etc.

But ofcourse things also can be said otherwise. But its more a 'mature' gaming environment, considered that most PVP servers are mostly alot of 'childish' chat on the global.

I have been in a few RP guilds and some enforce certain ways to speak in guild chat.. addressing people with sir or ranks and stuff like that... silly really but if people enjoy that good for them

but every time i want to take i dont want to have to go down that road

ie "Hail, I am Carrak of the house of toads how goes you today"

somthing along those lines haha..

If people are crazy like that, we can always make special servers for them, that way normal people could play on other, normal servers and everyone would be happy.

Or, of course, we could make special servers for them, and then play there anyway and keep insisting that they are the loopy ones. That could work too.

There's a couple of rules. So as to not offend anyone, only use the say or shout channels for what the character you are playing would say. Other channels are just as normal. That is expected of everyone, and is basically about not bothering the people who RP.

The other thing is the option to do roleplay, which roughly means trying to make some sense and credibility of the game world, your character and other characters as well. When and how much you do this is up to you, but as per above you are expected to leave people alone if you are not interested in RPing with them.

Most of the end-game content is played just like normal servers, and roleplay usually happens in between raids and minis, etc.

Or the really short version: don't be a dick, listen and you'll get along fine.
