Default To Dev's and the community:OUR REAL PROBLEM(Bow users)

All chars here are a kind of super heroes,a mix of rl and fantasy..and some like casters only fantasy.Every class have a mix of super rl and supernatural skills.
AND HERE IS OUR REAL PROBLEM...show me one super skill that a bow ranger have..or just a super skill that comes from rl..o wait..there is none.
Problems started when the xbow-warrior get merged with the bow-rogue ranger,so instead of 2 nice trees we got just 1.
Xbow tree looks better with nice super skills like column attacks-evasive action-shatter shots etc,with some tweaks will look awesome,but this is another story.
Also about the fail of traps-tracking etc...no word from me..who dont know those things?
So..here how i would like for some skills to work for a bow ranger in this game.



1)In rl fire arrows used for "sieges"...here just a for a chance of healing debuff plus a small amount of fire dmg.
i would like to see a a improved fire stance that will do serious dmg to walls and buildings in sieges.maybe a improved fb also?

2)in rl a arrow can kill you,can penetrate full plate..here what it does?
I would like to see a improved heartseeker that really will do what tooltip says...maybe with a bigger cd.

3)Eagle eye?maybe a pig's eye...yes..lol
I would like to see really bow rangers to have equal range with casters without any mods on weapons and some skills with greater range
I would like to see different types of bows...big and slow for sniping..or those that you can pull laying on ground and pulling with legs that they use in middleage to set fires on buildings and areas behind walls etc

4)Ranged kb that works to all armors with maybe less ranger because of a "special" arrow projectile

5)Volley...
Its time to be channeled..(like a necro aoe spell),to stack with other's rangers volley,improving utility and strategy in grp pvp

6)i really believe that rogue+shield=dont exist.Shield must be available only for xbow users,also all ccs that come from 1h weapon...root,snare and kb.
Give us a 2h sword with 2 nice comboslikebarbs have or 2x1h swords..leave daggers for the experts ones..the sins.

7)Sniper stance..pls not with silents shots..also when you zoom in target make the cross moving a bit and difficult to target,but if the arrow hit on head-neck must be a headshot and if on body like 50-60% life out and a chance to be a "killshot",put to this shot a cd,so will not be op(difficulty+cd)

8)We really need a grp buff,maybe improved stances that gives to the grp the +hitchance or +firedmg

9)Allow hybrid builds,make all feats to work with both weapons,bow and xbow..that will give some nice and interesting builds

I think most your post makes somewhat sense except the part I quoted, no one likes to be one shot and it has no place in an MMORPG.

thought the siege thing I think could be tied into the AA system in the expansion.

We have suggested ways to increase range that will also add to our abilities to dps.

I agree with #4

I don't agree with #6 seems to WoWish to me

we have suggested unlocking silent shots from sniper stance and the other stuff is good to.

What I'd really like to see is the range of casters significantly reduced, by about 10m.

If you up a ranger's base range much more we'll get stupid when using Snaketongue but I see no reason that after spending 5 feat points, ruining our situational awareness, taking a bow with sub-par (compared with easy access epics) damage and slotting a gem that does no damage we should only just outrange a demo.

1. there must be 1 or 2 shots hitting you before until the combo finisher can hit you - so if you would see a need to break LoS you could do that in most cases easily before the "real damage" comes. Moreover it´s the same with melee-combos: beeing in range when the combo-finisher starts is enough to get hit

2. tracking in itself won´t do much damage, is unreliable and more buggy than ever and of little help in many situations (group-pvp incl. minis, sieges) - wouldn´t call that a super skill

All combos work like this. Not just Rangers´. Hit calculation is done the second the combo finisher is pressed and not when the animation is finished.

tracking cant be a factor as Funcom can not ban the 50% population using tracking cheats

what we suggested was to give +1 range at every 10th level to give +8 at level 80 giving a total of +13 with eagle eye and removing all +ranged mods from the game including gems, this gives you 1 less range then snaketounge but i think is over all worth it, this also frees up the budget for things like +hit on weapons.
