Today i've been trying out havoc spec, and while it has some very nice feats (wicked bolts, chained shockstrike) it's just so much less powerfull than Conflag that I think it deserves a buff. Let's compare some spells.

Living Thunderstorm vs Living Firestorm - Firestorm does about 1k AoE dmg when it's first cast and then a few AoE hits of 100-300? last time I used it was around lvl40... anyway the lightning storm does - with Pact of Earth Walking up - 500 dmg, and a couple of 30-50dmg hits on one target. Imo the damage should be comparable to a shockblast or higher, and the aoe dot should tick for around 100-300 every 2 seconds.

Shockstrike vs FoG - Fires has a constant 600-900 dmg range. Shockstrike seems to stay in a 500-800 range and sometimes get a huge crit or normal hit (1.6k crit without buffs) Fires also applies incinerate and a feated -5% healing debuff, and gets stronger after more casts (amassed flames). Shockstrike doesn't have any of these kind of buffs and keeps its original, rather low, damage. You can stand there spamming shockstrike on a group and they'll just outheal whatever you do while fighting those of your allies who actually pose a threat.

Agonizing jolts vs Let Them Burn - The damage and duration on agonizing jolts are jut pathetic. Let them burn with some buffs up kills a caster/light armor char in 3 hits. Agonizing jolts does about the same dmg in its total duration as one tick from let them burn.

Wicked Bolts vs Detonation - Wicked bolts is instacast like detonation, but has only 10m range and no damage. Detonation needs incinerate on the target whih is easily applied with an insta cast hellfire stream, and can do up to around 1k AoE dmg while doing an AoE knockback.
so basically:
Wicked bolts - instant short range knockback.
Detonation - instant long range AoE knockback with 1k dmg but the target needs incinerate. (applied by another instacast)

I think the havoc tree needs a revamp, like what was done with conflag a few patches ago. Some feats are good and but only need a look at dmg. Others are just plain useless (two 5-feat abilities for regaining mana? seriously.)

well Havoc has it good sides aswell, like:

- Shockstrike can have 32 meter range if Bombardment is fully feated making it pretty usefull in certain situations
- Overloaded Shockblast is very powerful when fully feated, beats Inferno of Amher easily
- Demonic Wrack, decreases targets electrical invulnerability by 5%..nice when playing with a few ToS who also uses their debuffs
- Thunderclap, strong channeling spell with chance of knocking back your target(s)
- improvements to Storm Chains are nice. long root with nice pulsing damage

i played my demo first with conflag build but around lvl70 changed to havoc and really enjoyed playing with it Now i'm back to conflag because of raids. I've tried several builds with havoc and hybrid and it was really hard to choose which one i take. I ended up with conflag because it has greater dps.

but i recommend that you try both trees

all demos ive met are conflag, all of them i can kill easily.

It seems that a faster nuke+instant knockback is the key to killing clothies+healers

The nicest feat in the havoc tree is "demon heart of chatha" which improves demonic heart, making you 40% resistance to fear and stun!

Pact of dread is also a nice feat and its made for spellweaving, and what kind of demo does not spellweav?

The spell that really needs a buff is possession. Atm its close to useless and its so far down in the feat tree =( During possession why should have more options on how we wish to controll our "new pet".
