60FPS+ is idiotic and useless. The human eye can "tell" the difference between 50 and 100FPS if watched in comparison, but it can't tell 50FPS from 100FPS without nitpicking and tricks. So just save me the bitching, I know I'm right.
LOL you know you're right? Ok

60+ FPS is not idiotic there's a reason some people that know better than you want more than 60 FPS and that is to have a safety margin not to drop below 30-40 FPS and feel the stutter when suddenly a huge render load is added. Some people run 24 or 30 inch monitors you know. Sure youre running in villas all by yourself at 60 fps and thinking why do I need more. If you have raided and had all the action going (either damage numbers or particles or both) your 60 FPS will certainly drop down to teens. That's why if you had a system capable of putting out more than 60 FPS your minimum in raids will crawl up out of teens. The higher you have this buffer zone above 60 less likely that you will drop down to teens.

Catalyst control center only causes problems and you should uninstall it? That was ages ago. Now CCC which has CAT AI includes all the fixes and performance optimizations which were programmed by driver team specifically to FIX the problems with some games, not installing CCC thus not having the game optimizations that come with CAT AI is pure wrong. Besides CAT AI is essential for ATi dual-gpu graphics cards. Just because someone is right in some things doesn't mean that everything else he says should also be taken as truth.

the point of FPS is not only about what you see with "the human eye" but also how fast you react.

60 fps+ is smooth and allows me fight with a fast reaction time

anything below 30fps makes it hard to pvp.

  1. Uninstall "Cataclyst Control Center"
  2. The CCC causes lots of issues and crashes so unless you know exactly what you're doing, get rid of it.
  3. (if you don't like the option above, you're on your own. try the nvidia suggestions below.)
  4. Suggestions?
My suggestion? Make AoC available trough cloud gaming. I've tried everything with ATI, nothing seems to fix the fps drops that was not previously present, back when dream engine was not there and when I had an nVidia card.

Get more ram and a better cpu or overclock that one to at least 3Ghz. Your fps max is my fps min with 5870.

It's realy hard to tell but i would try high (since they aren't the highest) and then lower some settings until the game runs to your preference. Shadows are one that has been reported to take a lot out of your system. Try high without shadows and tweak your way down if necessary.
