a demonologist would try to attract as little attention as possible, as otherwise the local populace would mob up on her ;P
unless she was very very sure of herself that she could deal with an angry frightened village, not to mention the risk of arrows in the back etc....

The fact is that AOC had to stray slightly from the lore in order to make dps caster classes playable and not too over powered (ignoring the whole TOS debate). After all, I believe even conan kept well clear of the stygian casters because of their immense power.

As for the name, well not all Demons are ultra-powerful and who can rip Old Tarantia apart. There can be a heirachy of greater and lesser demons.

However, I agree that demonologists need more of an identity and affinity with demons in general.

This is AoC not WoW , flying mounts is something we will NEVER see in aoc and demos using a demon instead of a horse is just stupid. So what are necros supposed to ride then? - a skeleton horse?

Demonologist is so misleading... atleast it was for me when I found out that the Demon pet takes ages to kill an even con mob. A Demon not able to kill something that the Demonologist can nuke to death in seconds? Thats just plain... wrong.

Please tell me more because I'm curious. Does spell weaving not leave the Demo's open to attack due to being so static?

What situations dictate the use for spell weaving in pvp? Sieges good for it?

BTW, whatever the reason, I still think that spell weaving is nothing but fancy graphics. There's no difference in the actual mechanics to casting spells apart from an increase in power and a couple more spells. Such things could be done in the "normal" way to spell casting. My point being that Spellweaving is very much removed from the original way it was portrayed before launch. I understand the reasons why, its just a shame that they have so much to do that Spellweaving is low priority.

Duels:
You have storm chains that roots for a long time, in the meantime you can get ready for a really nice nuke while you spellweav+all your pacts with set etc. Tested it, and a demo hit me for 4.3k.

You can do this against soldier classes, but then you have to know that they have already used "Cunning deflection" or else you will oneshot yourself.

Against rouges it's hard because they have a lot of anti CC, you can beat them to, but it will take a while to go into details:P

BS, PoM and ToS do all have spells to not be hit by dmg and magical dmg. But using storm chains+spellweaving you force them to use one of their best immunity spells, I as a PoM have to use Hand of mitra with a 5 min cooldown if a demo attack me with full power, if they dont have all their burst dmg ready I will still be low on hp.

Against mages and other casters, you have to run behind them to not get stunned or rooted while you try to run behind them. So it's nice that you have a spell that gives you 65% immunity? I cant remember correctly because I dont play on my demo alt a lot.

When fighting other mages you have a problem because they have most likely feated into purge.

In group fights it all depends on your team mates, how well they protect you. During group fights I just protect demos and necros because I know they can kill every member of the other team if I keep them alive while spellweaving.

You can also solo PvP in khes by using spellweaving, you find a nice location where its hard to spot you and start getting your nuke ready and fire with full power on someone with light armor or less. If the first fires of gehenna doesnt kill him, you still have two instant cast (hellfire stream and shock) which will hit with full power because you have been spellweaving.
