What if a lot of my friends want to still raid those tiers and I don't want/can't start another alt?

Why not allow people to "max" the tier by buying all related items (and some added ones)? Why make bosses always drop tokens if you can't buy anything for them?

Each tier should offer consumables (like AA pots) or mats (if the crafting revamp will add raid mat drops) just to avoid having unused relics - this is the obvious minimum.

and seriously drusilaz its not about you its about how incongruent your views are, stating that weapons shouldnt be bought and then wanting to trade raid relics for rares to get weapons...

system is fail weapon&accesories should be buyable with raid tokens, more relics should be tradeable for other assorted stuff same way as rares from instances are tradeable

Jeez, there aren't even overpriced daggamalt/moonspill/haste or stat pots to buy for T1/T2 relics

T3 at least offers shards, so you can always sell them or give away. I still don't have a T3 weapon on my main, but at least I didn't have to farm so much gold for faction gear, which is superior if you want specific stats. Shards are also a way to transer the time invested in your main to your alts.

T3,5/T4 lets you buy several different sets for vanity/power (f.e. healers and tanks might want 2 sets for power) - it's a nice relic sink, but not for everyone unfortunately...

After a few weeks, T1/T2 is just collecting useless relics hoping to drop a weapon - you already have a full armour set and you can't buy a different one... or anything else.

Another thing is that from a healer PoV, it's reasonable to raid T1-T3 only if you want weapons/accessories or vanity armour - raid armour is useful only if you don't have faction pieces.
