Hi,

I am trying to come up with my background character, obviously being a HOX its going to be rather dark, but I cant find much information about Xolti or the history of Xolti maybe I am not looking in the right places, any clues or pointers would be welcome.

I'm far from an encyclopedia when it comes to Xotli lore... but try googling it... and make sure you spell it X-o-t-l-i

Hehe, did the same mistake in spelling Xotli like you "Xolti". Took a way too long time to get used to write it right.

I don't have a lot of information regarding Xotli and some of this speculation, but here it is anyway:

Xotli is a demonic deity worshipped in ancient Atlantis and it may have been the rise of the Xotli cult that brought doom to Atlantis. The worship of Xotli was kept alive by atlantean refugees who fled towards the west and settled on an island chain.
The deity is practically unknown in Hyboria at the time of the game, though it is well possible that references could be found in ancient tomes like the 'Book of Skelos'.

Xotli's only appearance in the stories is in 'Conan of the Isles' by Carter/De Camp where Xotli's priesthood sends out demonic servants to kidnap victims in the hyborian kingdoms to sacrifice them to their bloodthirsty deity.

The way I play my HoX is I take his emotions to the extreme. Sometimes he is extremely noble and good, other times he is full of malice and spite, and maybe sometimes he is extremely loving and other times extremely hating. It really differs, I also put two conflicting emotions in him at times like extremely noble/loving towards one and spiteful/hating towards everything else maybe even the same guy... and yea he is a madman I guess But its fun. I never know what to expect and neither does the ones I meet.
