BTW im running 32bit XP's will I get a BIG boost if I use 64bit ?
The problem is that Im having this blue screen and a restart each time i exit/minimaze AOC. I was guessing its maybe due to heat ( CPU temp ~60 C is that normal ? ) and maybe out dated vid. drivers so i got myself 8.5 drivers ( currently on 8.4) but when trying to install i get this error : http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errorae8.jpg so thats a STOP. Any help ?

Thanks

This error message wanna tell you that the drivers you want to install can not find a hardware that they are written for.

How come ? Since when do drivers don't support theyr own products HD 2600 isn't a very ancient video card =/

Are you sure you're downloading the right ones?

As for XP 64, don't bother, any performance increases in games will be negligible, not worth the hassle.

Hi sorry to err on the side of caution here are you sure that is a Radeon HD2600 in that Laptop, Looking at the ATI driver website the only drivers are for the HD2600 (PCIe), I would have thought that you would need to look under either the mobility or onboard/motherboard section however there are no listings for HD2600.

try getting a driver update from Asus rather than ATI, I had the same problem when trying to install the latest catalyst driver on my toshiba with ATI HD2600 Go.

Mine did let me install (this is Vista home rather than XP though), but installed it as a standard VGA card.

Oh and forget XP64, it's bloody terrible (well actually it's quite nice, but there is zero support for it).

EDIT: at MG, how well does the Opty run in AoC? That's actually how I got to this post (via google). Desperate to get dual core on my old 939 rig as I just cant quite afford a new build right now.
