What's the problem?

There are two instances of the word "popular" in this interview. One is regarding The Game of Thrones (not popular?) and the other one is regarding combat as the most popular reason to like Age of Conan (isn't it?).

Does the word "popular" means something different in your country?

The closer you are to your game the better you understand it, because it is those players who get the closest to it. The designers play the game; listen to the players actually playing the game. Learn what they like and dislike, what they appreciate, and what they don't.
... and then completely disregard everything they heard and make something no one even thought of, like FB thing.

Well, the Facebook integration might come in handy at some point, and several players here have already embraced the idea (FB is not my kind of thing though).

But the crafting revamp is something that many players have requested. While the MMORPG.com interview does not touch upon this topic, another anniversary interview over at Massively.com reveals some interesting things.

http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05...g-for-craftin/

Crafting has always been one of my joys in MMOs and sadly AoC's crafting system has been shitty. No more. This makes me drool. Quote from said interview when Morrison is asked whether the new crafting system in AoC will be a copy of the crafting system in The Secret World:

Quote:
In terms of the crafting system, that is something very unique to TSW. They took their inspiration from Minecraft when it came to their shape- and location-based crafting, and it is a cool system, really good fun to play with. On the other hand, I am really looking forward to the new system for Conan. We are looking back a bit more, taking our inspiration from games like Star Wars Galaxies and the other earlier MMOs, with a focus on ingredients and finding the best combinations. That adds a layer of depth that you don't find in the other modern MMOs that have used more simple list type crafting systems, where you get the same results all of the time.
Player housing next, please, and I'll be ready to drop my subs to any other MMORPGs out there.
