Firstly, If anybody wants to ridicule you for trying to learn, just ignore them.
Second, you should really make a list of the different things you want to know more about, it's easier for ppl to start replying then.
Third, some mod should split this out into a new post.
It's hard to know at what "level" you are from your post. You know that gear makes your stronger, right? AA is another way of making your character stronger.
You also know certain gear has "the right" stats for your class, PoM, and others dont? F.ex. Intelligence doesn't help you, but wisdom does. Rather than us trying to explain in general what gear is good and not, you should post a screenshot of a piece and its stats (Shift+click in inventory), or even better a link to the item on
http://aoc.yg.com, and ask us to explain.
Buffs are effects that you have running, you can see them on the top of the screen. As a PoM you should have 4 permanent (4 hour) buffs. 2 of these also happen to be group buffs, that means they grant a bonus to the other members, when in a group. There are also temporary buffs or effects, f.ex. Holy Cleansing.
Somewhat related are debuffs, negative buffs or penalties that are running on you. They could have been put on you by a mob or by using an ability that has a cooldown. Radiance, is an example. Your spell Radiance which heals for around 1000hp or more, has a cooldown of 25 seconds. But when you affect someone with that heal, that player can't be healed by radiance again for the next 60 seconds. You can see that 60 second cooldown as a debuff on yourself and any other players you heal with radiance.
Maybe this was too basic?
