Default PvE Raid DPS Class Order

Long time has passed, a lot of things changed, and a lot of memories remained and need to be awaken. So by reading through a lot of old stuff, I think this thread needs a new beginning. You can find the Original thread here
http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=104844
(is nice read too +epic stuff inside and guest appearance by "ppl" like StinkyBurGer aka Cobrashock for ppl that know him...)

So guys, please post what is the current dps food chain regarding classes in Raids - in single target fights and in AoE

For reference you can chek the original thread, and this is still true like it was back then i think

Quote:
It seems to me that the basic game mechanics have gotten badly out of shape in AoC with regards to which classes are supposed to be capable, if spec'd to do so, of producing the highest DPS.

Therefore I wanted to create a new thread to gauge opinion of the community what order they feel the individual DPS leaderboard should be. This is of course only concentration on builds aimed at maximizing the classes DPS and nothing else.

IMO the DPS should be balance against things like surviveability, target debuffs, healing, and group buffs. In many cases a single class could take a group buff ability but sacrifice some one of his DPS feats. Thus a class that is capable of providing many group buffs should not be able to do as much DPS as class with less if both are spec'd from max DPS and played perfectly. Same goes for healing and survive.

Well it seems to depend more on the player now than the last time that thread was posted, but here goes:

Single target, tank&spank fight no special mitigation:

(1: DPS DT, but they are forced to tank x_x)
1: 'sin
2: barb
3: demo
4: necro
5: PoM
6: ToS (Actually I think ToS are capable of way higher dps than this spot, not sure why they end up so low in the list)
7: ranger
8: BS
9: Conq (brute)
10: DT
11: Guard

I left out HoX because we rarely have them in raid and I honestly wouldn't know how much dps they can do. Carnage conq can probably reach top5 too but I rarely raid with them as well.

Can't say this list is very accurate for actual raiding though, since it really depends on the encounter which class will top the list.

1. DPS DT (if tanks can hold aggro )
2. Sin
3. Necro
4. Demo
5. Tos
6. Conq (if Carnage)
7. Barb
8. Hox
9. Ranger
10. PoM
11. Shammy
12. Conq
13. Guard

Ofc this all depends on the player a good Carnage conq can go much higher then 6th same goes for hox etc but on average id say this is how it would look, i took Arbanus in t3 as fullburn for example btw ! ( i know his prot is very low but these days thats the case in most bossfights )

single target dps
1. necro with melee pets
2. sin/dual barb/dps dt
3. demo/nf necro
4. tos/hox/dual conq/tank spec dt
5. pom/ranger
6. bs
7. 2h conq/guard

but sometimes close positons can switch one to another like tos can overdsp demo or demo can overdps sin.

you always take these talks with a pinch of salt, cuz starting from t3 upwards, rarely 2 fights are alike. What I can say for sure is that the best hoxes (tiomm, tafale that i know of) will rarely be below 5th. On bosses like Arbanus and TA, tiomm often was 1st back in the QQ days. I've rarely had the chance to see a carnage conq or barb beat us, but again, it differs from fight to fight, and also it depends who you've got playing.

Bottom line is that HoX is a dying breed, but still a very powerful one. It just takes a great player to see its true potential. When you play with one, HoX will most likely be way higher than what you guys have put in those classifications.

weve talk only bout single target dps i thought. In aoe dps fights demo and hox had to be on top, NF necro is really close. ToS can do same or almost same dps but only if there are no more then 5x targets.

He has just mentioned Arbanus! To add more to that, it is really hard to be on top DPS since the first part is low DPS, and you have to watch out not to use your silencing breath.

ah, new opportunity for some classic epeen.

i wouldn't allow dps spec dt's to raid in high tiers. only as fluffer. they die from over dpsing anyway.

Sins sure are a very high dps class.

old pom was good dps, i have no idea how they are now after revamp.

tos can be very good dps but since the dawn of age we suffer from inexistent minus hate and that limits our actions.

necros sure are a very high dps class.

barbs can be very useful in many ways, dps is one the things barbs are good at.

shammy can be also nice dps but i'd think healing would come first.

rangers are good dps.

cabbage conq very good dps. brute not so good.

dps guard is nice dps but same thing with dt, can't allow guards in dps spec in raids. rarely even see dps guards..

well played hox is excellent dps, very nice.

demo is good is good, what more to say. always been good.

how to say if your raid has good dps? can your raid kill louhi before his damage shield with a rather balanced raid? if you can then you don't need to worry about anything.
