Thats not true, if my guild is raiding we few non raiders have to fill up 1 or 2 spots from global and it is not a problem if a newbie joins.
I always ask people to come on Ts for the run but most are too shy.
But if one refuse to come on Ts and wipe the group a few times he have to leave.

But as several already typed, join a guild, join voice com and you will get your spot in HM runs.

Default get freinds

freinds are obtainable in guilds, or as mentioned bye grouping up and use voice chat.

a big point here is be honest about beeing a new player, doing pve u will get shitloads of nice info about ure class, skills, gear and tricks. what i experice is most ppl are happy to share some tips from there exp. some know alot from playing for 3 years and so.
the point here is be open and learn from it, they know better(ofc there are some nabs outthere who dont have a clue what they are saing)

so say ure new to game, and ask everytime ure in doubt. then ppl will be happy to play with u agein.

sometimes i do NM for fun and newbies are always welcome (i usually use TS but i don't mind writing the tactics):

- i use toons "Putch" (barbarian) and "Eltarkan" (Guard), be on the lookout in LFG channel for groups created by me so you can learn NM at least;
- in HM the tactics are basically the same but DPS and damage mitigation has to be higher and some vital AA must be used: you died in Flame HM in the beginning possibly because when the BOSS casts "Burning Skin" the "Finely Honed" AA ability of the rogue must be used and it was not used causing any dps you hit to kill the group while the "Burning Skin" is active

You need to join a guild that does hard modes mate. There are still plenty out there advertising in global!

Or alternatively join friendly pugs

Guildies are best. Either way, real way of learning hardmodes is doing them with people who already know what to do, and aren't piles of fetid horse crap like those you saw.

ALWAYS state clearly if you've never done what group is doing, ask anything you're not clear about and if anyone is bitching about that, it's someone you don't want to group with.

Anyone who'd kick a newbie after one wipe is a worthless little piece of entitled ****. Anyone who can't be bothered to type the
(usually not that complicated) boss tactics is an illiterate and/or lazy ******* (or they can't speak English in which case it might be excused). While you should've told them that you don't know what to do, those guys were still pricks and you're better off without them.

I agree with pretty much this. But things are getting pretty absurd in Crom. I mean now they are sometimes even requiring AA/gear and XP for a frigging normal run! Great, seriously....

As an example, for the past month my Hox has been able to acquire 3 rares. I honestly tell the group leader that I am a Hox and have some experience and never get invited. I even have good enough gear to do HM's, but no dice. Well what ever, I'm thinking of retiring all my lvl 80 characters and if I'm thinking of it, I can pretty much guess that other newbies are as well... I saw something like this happen to another MMO, when the community started behaving like Eric Cartmans....What happened was that many of the non-pro players simply gave up. I mean why bother? There are other things in life to enjoy that don't require AA/exp/Gear and crap....

Actually about the only thing I do with my level 80 chars, is help a friend quest and run some Normal Modes with my sin (and I invite anyone who wants to join.) That's it. Not much motivation to go on. My necro has been wearing the same gear for about 2 months now and I never should have made a Hox, had I known that no one wants them in their group. I hate playing as a sin.

Guilds aren't such a sure bet to do HM's either.. Many guilds are merging and sorting out that and veteran players no longer have the patience (or the time and resources) to take the newbies to HM's. I kinda understand; They payed for the game as well and want to have their enjoyment, without dragging along some newbie like me all the time.
And I haven't seen a Guild advertise on global, saying that they do HM's often and are willing to accept all kinds of members. Simply doesn't happen any more. If there was a guild like that, I would join it in a heartbeat. When ever I look into to these guild adds, they usually look for people to do t3-t4 raids and whatnot.

Sorry for venting my frustrations. Now back to watching hockey

why not start a guild full of newbies?
when funcom launched the kithai expansion, everyone was a noob and everyone from guilds started gething togheter and wiping a lot until figuring out the tactics (same thing is happening with House of Crom and Turan)...

why not start a group on global , something like: LFM pagoda/flame/vortex/coppice NM (newb welcome) - need something, something....

i did once gathered people for NM with the words "newb welcome" or something like that, and i got a lot of laughing on the global (ignore list got bigger) but at the same time got a team and gave them the NM tactics and we finished all the dungeons...

i defend the fact that the more people learn the tactics (NM and HM) the more groups are available to join...that's one of the reasons i help others, the second reason is that i like the challenge and having different outcomes (i wished HM were harder), im not a big fan of farming and always doing the same thing...

P.S.: Drusillaz, we are from the same guild and i'm online a lot of time. why you never ask me for help??
it's our guild "best" meaning = to have fun...of course some of the guildies are possessed with having full epic kithai gear but others not really (and others are there for both)...
remember our t1 raids on thrusdays night? usually with something like 3 barbarians, 1 assassin, 4 guardians, 0 bear shamans, etc (you get the point)!? the whole idea is to teach others and avoid, in some cases, ninja looting. me for example, im full t2 gear and i dont miss a t1 raid (unless to give room for another), i just go there for the fun and help someone that needs...
my alt chars in case you don't know are: Eltarkan, Demevil and Sakesham (Putch you already know)

Problem is that often when I spam global I get people in that don't know the tactics and don't seem to be very bothered to learn them at all. I sometimes ask 9 or 10 times to come on TS to be able to explain it to them and when something happens in the fight tell them how to cope with it. Guess what, the majority of them can't even be bothered to log onto TS, or even communicate in the group chat. Annoys the living crap out of me tbh.

Then you've got the other type of people that see KK HM for example, ask to join and then to everyone's extreme amazement, doesn't understand a single word of English. Jolly nice if you've got a muppet like that with you.

Yes it's true, I tend to kick people that annoy me, however no one can say I've never given even the newest people a fair chance. Cooperate with the group or bugger off, that's my moto.
