New Avatars and small changes to the forums

As we will be joined by the polish and russian community pretty soon and we've been working on the Serverforums anyway, we took the chance to rework the avatars.

Because we uploaded a new gallery of avatars, we have to delete the old ones the beginning of next week, but don't panic all old avatars are included in the new avatar package called "AoC Avatars".


Why did we rework the avatars?

The old avatars have not been compressed properly (100% Quality JPEG) and have been way to large in filesize, so we recompressed them without visually loosing quality to a tenth of their former filesize (from 26kb per Avatar down to 2-3kb). We hope that this will also prevent any loading slowdown from happening, when the masses of polish and russian fans join us, so the forum will stay as swift as now


New avatars?

As a small gift for the troubles caused, we have been browsing through the artwork library of Age of Conan and searching for suitable faces that we could utilize to create new avatars. We found plenty and were able to create 59 new avatars for you.
